Misbah-ul-haq, Pakistan's captain, chose to bowl in the series opener against Sri Lanka on a hot and dry day in Abu Dhabi. The pitch at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium was flat and offered nothing for the bowlers during the last Test there, between Pakistan and South Africa in November last year. Misbah said he saw some moisture in the track that could help his fast bowlers early on.
